Spa Fabulous, Hotel Horrible A review of The Inn at Pocono Manor
The Pocono Manor was horrible. The hotel is over 80 years old and it shows. As with a previous reviewer, we had problems with the heating/air conditioning unit in our room. It was extremely loud, and turned on for a few minutes and then off for a few about every ten minutes, making sleeping, talking or watching TV extremely difficult. Speaking of the TV, it was a 13 inch color TV that was approximately 25 years old! The bed was also quite uncomfortable. We thought the food was okay and the service excellent, with the exception of the evening Maitre'D; we asked our server to ask the him to tell a couple who kept receiving cell phone calls to turn their phones off or to go outside, but he did not do anything, forcing me to confront the couple, causing a scene.
The only good thing about the Pocono Manor resort is the Laurel Spa (a recent addition). The staff was first rate and the service impeccable. We would go to the spa again, but would stay somewhere else.
