Somewhat disappointed A review of Mayfair Hotel & Spa
I had a function to attend in the area of Coconut Grove and stayed for one night, July 19, 2003 to July 20, 2003. The Mayfair House comes so highly touted and I was somewhat disappointed. The open interior atrium is full of green vegetation but does not appear to be as well kept and gardened as it should me. At the bottom of the atrium there is a cover over a roof area obviously to protect against roof leaks. Again, it gives the impression of lack of maintenance. Front desk staff was courteous as was bell staff at check in. The room itself is a small suite. Beautiful bathroom which appears to have been renovated recently. As advertised, there was a hot tub on the terrace but it appeared to be dirty and not maintained. Television was small. Bed comfortable. Wall paint in room had some chips, again lack of maintenance. Bathroom door was scratched. Dining room service at breakfast was very slow. Waiter brought coffee but no milk, bread but no butter, these things should not happen in a hotel that claims to be 4 star. Area of hotel is great. That is the hotel's greatest asset.
Hotel is nice, but was expecting more.
