Solid no-frills hotel A review of Courtyard New Haven at Yale
The hotel gives you exactly what you expect from a Courtyard. It was clean, the room was large and included a refrigerator. While I agree with other reviews that the area is less than great, it is hard to find any wonderful areas in New Haven.
I felt very safe in the hotel itself, the room key was required to gain access to all entrances.
The thing that set this apart from other Courtyard's was the staff. The front desk staff offers great suggestions on where to go, especially to eat, and they have great maps showing how to get there.
As far as my personal favorite, go to Frank Pepe's Pizza (it is the best pizza I have ever had). Avoid the Yorkside Diner (as a business traveler I often travel alone and the diner refused to let me sit in a booth at an off-peak time because they are only for parties of 2 or more).
Finally, the breakfast was a great deal! It was fresh and well-stocked
