Solid in Many Ways A review of Minnewaska Lodge
We've stayed at Minnewaska Lodge the last two years, meeting friends from NJ (New Paltz somewhat midway), and they've referred many happy customers, as well. It's a well maintained, very tastefully designed and decorated place, with attentive management and attention to detail. When I asked the owner about his biggest surprise about owning an inn (a relatively new career, after law), he said "having to fix everything right away." And it's clear that they do. The place looks both classic and brand new. Plus, the setting is gorgeous, just close enough to the Gunks and New Paltz, and just far enough away from civilization. I did notice the noise from another room, which was in the normal range (no party) and concur they don't have the most solid walls, but it's in no way for me something to knock down the rating from excellent. There has been nothing to dissuade anyone in our discerning group to reconsider that this will continue as our "same time, next year" first resort.
