Solid airport hotel A review of Renaissance Concourse Atlanta Airport Hotel
The Renaissance Concourse is a fine airport-area hotel with a beautiful atrium lobby and lots of skylit public areas. The rooms are very large and bright, although on a recent visit (june 2002) the carpet was kind of worn and overall the room could have used some maintenance.
Bathrooms (typical of Renaissance properties) are huge with Bath and Body Works toiletries. Wood furniture was nice, but again could use some updating.
Half the hotel rooms hover directly over ATL's runways, so if you're an aviation fan, it doesn't get any better. Views of takeoffs and landings are spectacular. Soundproofing is quite adequate.
THe staff is friendly and helpful. THey'll shuttle you to restaurants in the pedestrian-unfriendly airport area (Although your dining choices are severely limited - the Atlanta airport area sucks). Room service and the hotel restaurant are better than average.
