Smelly, Noisy, Loud and kinda nasty A review of Four Points by Sheraton Los Angeles Westside
I have stayed at this hotel a couple of times, and will probably try to stay away from now on. The first time I stayed here, it was with my mom about a year or two ago. I don't remember anything to complain about from that trip, but I was 17 then so I probably didnt notice. About two weeks ago I stayed here again for one night. First of all there was a huge high school group here. They were VERY loud and VERY smelly - yes, smelly. I was exausted having come from a 2 day academic conference and was ready to eat, take a shower and have my first full night of sleep in about 3 days. My first room was on the 7th floor and it turned out most of the floor was occupied by the group - they all had their doors propped open and were running from room to room. The elevators were always crammed with these kids and as soon as I stepped out onto my floor, it just REEKED. It smelled SO bad I could not believe it. I soon figured out the smell was eminating from all the high schoool boys rooms who had their doors propped open. It smelled worse than a locker room. I have nothing aginst the kids at all, they were all nice, its just that they should have been put on a seperate floor or something.
Now, Im not really pickey and, yes, im only a couple of years out of high school myself, but when I pay $100 for a quiet room, I dont expect to feel like im staying at a dormatory/locker room. Now the room itself was very worn, VERY small, and very dirty. I was just going to deal with it, but the kids kept running through the hall, and I knew I wasnt goin to get any sleep. It sounded like they were in my room. I asked to get moved, so I got moved to the top floor, 8, at the end. The room was just as small and worn and dirty, but the kids were not running past my door and there was no smell. I was happy to leave the next morning! The whole hotel just feels small and dirty. The hallways are all very small and stuffy. The rooms, again, are VERY small, especially the king rooms. The location is convient to the 405, which is good because you will want to get out ASAP! The area around the hotel, Culver City in general, is pretty nasty. The only redeeming thing about the hotel is the free parking. I am a member of SPG, which was the only reason I stayed here.
