Small hotel in Prague A review of Hotel Victoria
Spent three nights last week at the Victoria Hotel in Prague. We had gone on a package deal through Austrian Airlines and this hotel looked like the best of the three we had to choose from. It's a small, hotel that you could drive by and not even know it was there.
The room was very clean, and seemed to be recently renovated. The bathroom was modern and had a great shower.
The downside was that it was not near any of the tourist sights, and we had to take a tram (sometimes with a connection) everywhere. The tram stop was about a 4-5 minute walk down the hill, but was fairly simple to figure out if you knew which way you needed to go. We went the wrong way on our first outing.
There is a small restaurant next door to the hotel that serves light meals, a Chinese restaurant a short walk away, and what appeared to be a nicer restaurant also a short walk away, but not much else in the neighborhood in the way of restaurants. Breakfast was included in our package, it was an adequate small buffet - nothing great, but filling.
The staff at the hotel was a mixed bag. One day there was very nice girl at the desk, but another day another girl who didn't really seem to care.
Overall, our stay was fine. If you don't mind not being near the tourist sites - this is a good, inexpensive choice.
