Slightly disappointing A review of Hyatt Regency Miami
I stayed in the Hyatt Regency a few weeks ago for a conference and I was slightly disappointed. It is usually full of people waiting for cruise liners and the lobby is regularly crowded. The rooms are fine and the service is very good. However the location is not ideal. If you have a room facing the river the traffic is quite noisy as it hits the bridge. The facilities are also quite poor. The bar is the biggest disappointment. It is brightly lit and open plan. When I was there it was also out of draught beer. Also if you don't have a car the local sights are limited. A great help would be if the hotel provided a shuttle bus to the Bayside shopping and entertainment complex or even a ride to south beach. There is a good bar round the corner - Tobacco Road that has good food and music. All in all its ok for Downtown but without a car stay at the beach.
