Slightly Disappointed A review of Holiday Inn Charlotte - Center City
Came down for a concert and wanted to stay in downtown since I'd never been to Charlotte before. Upon arriving, the parking attendant asked for my keys, said he would take my car to the garage, and to call him when I needed it. I thought, "Great courtesy valet service!" Found out after the $14.00 bill that parking wasn't free, as it had clearly stated online (which is why I chose the Holiday Inn over others). Then, the front-desk clerk gave us the WRONG room key, which we only realized after walking in to the sound of a running shower. Aesthetically, the room had peeling paint on the walls and the pillows were really lumpy. I will say, however, that the location is choice if you're concerned with Charlotte's night-life. Everything is within walking distance and the hotel's restaurant, Cafe Sienna, helped to redeem our stay quite a bit. For a last resort, or last choice when everything else is booked, it's tolerable for a weekend stay.
