Simple but nice Hotel A review of BEST WESTERN Premier Acacia
Having spent some time researching Hotels for a weekend in Bruges and having read every review for every Hotel we decided that simply on value for money the Acacia was the hotel.
They were very polite and emailed out a map and directions to the hotel and this proved to be a must!
The hotel is situated a two minute walk off the main square but is tucked away from the main tourist area in a pleasant sidestreet between two shopping streets.
We arrived early and the room was not ready so they said to store our bags and come back later but enjoy some time in Bruges first.
We booked a Junior Suite and were allegedly upgraded to a Superior Room for our stay which to us was great but we were a little perturbed by how small the room was compared to the Junior Suite. The room was fresh and just decorated and was leagues ahead of the Junior Suite (which did smell smokey and was a bit faded in decor) but as I said small.
Overall I would visit Bruges again and might return to the Acacia for the pleasant hotel, nice staff and great continental breakfast. But would possibly look at some of the other hotels on my list that I could not get booked into this time.
Don't miss the Brujtles Bar around the corner open from 4.00pm with over 300 types of beer! And for traditional yet brilliant food in a lovely atmosphere visit the "Vlamishce Pot" Right out the hotel to the main street, left at the waffle bar and 200 yards up the road you will see a side street with the restaurant visible.
Have fun ,we did....but bring comfy walking shoes and an umbrella!
