Sheraton On the Way to being Great! A review of Melia Nassau Beach Resort

The Sheraton Cable Beach has just converted from the Radisson Cable Beach. It is about 1/2 way through its renovation and I had a room in the West Tower. I arrived very late as my flight from South Florida was delayed by over 3 hours. When I arrived I was assigned a smoking room, even though I was hoping for a non-smoking one. Bernandette at the front desk explained all the rooms were brand new and it should be okay, but let her know if it was not. She was right it was fantastic, everything was new, brand new. I had a wonderful room with a pool view. Bernadette called within five minutes to make sure it was okay. It was!

The staff both front desk and housekeeping were terrific. I had some problems with my billing, my stay was prepaid but it was not reflected in their system. Judy, a front desk manager and Clara both helped make sure it was cleared. They were very gracious about it.

There were some drawbacks based on the renovations. The in-room wireless internet was not working, so I had to use it in the lobby which was free. Also the ice machines were not working. You could get ice from the bar.

Everything was very clean and again the room was great. The pools that were open were very nice. The beach was so so, I like the beaches better in Freeport and in Miami for that matter. The water was beautiful.
