Sheraton, Broad Street, Richmond, VA A review of Ramada Plaza Richmond West
I hesitate to write a negative review, because when I read them, and others seem to complain on and on, I usually figure they are just difficult people, who can never be pleased no matter what. THIS IS NOT MY CASE! At no time was I rude -- if anything I was too polite to the employees at this hotel.The check in was SLOW (we were the only ones online). The clerk gave us the wrong directions to our room (the hotel is a maze). We booked 3 months in advance. The room they gave us was a 10 min. walk from the front desk and up three flights. We finally got to the room, and it was a non-smoking, we had reserved a "smoking" room. When I called and asked for a smoking room that wasn't so far from the main part of the hotel, I was given a room number on the first floor, and told a valet would meet us there with a room key. The hallways are not airconditioned, it was JULY in VA, and 25 minutes later (after the maid cleaning an adjacent room called the front desk three times) a valet came with the new room key. The whole process took over 90 mins. from when we got there to when we put our bags down.
