Service poor at faciilty A review of Heathman Lodge
My family just spend a night at the Healthman Lodge and came away very disappointed by its level of service. First, we drove six hours through a heavy rain storm with a one year old and arrived at the Heathman at 12:45pm on a Saturday afternoon. We were told that it was impossible to check in early as there wasn't a clean room available and that we should go to the mall. (I find it hard to believe that they had a full house the night before). We also found it impossible to find hotel parking on a Saturday night as they had a huge corporate event going on at the Lodge.
Finally, on Sunday morning, we were unable to find a cart to assist us in transporting our luggage b/c the one around was taken up by the caterers setting up a huge buffet in the lobby.
Also, I wasn't aware, by reading the previous reviews and the Lodge's actual website, that this is actually located in a suburban business complex, meaning that you can't easily take a walk anywhere.
Overall, I got the sense that the staff could not have cared less about its hotel guests and that they were more interested in their restaurant guests and those attending large group functions.
The room itself was fine - basic but very clean.
