Service needs improvement!! A review of Six Flags Great Escape Lodge & Indoor Waterpark
My family and another spent 2 nights at the Lodge over Easter weekend. Our party was 4 adults and 6 children ranging in age from 5 through 11. We booked a 3 Queen suite that sleeps 10 with bunk beds and a pull out. The room was very nice, clean and spacious. Because it had a kitchenette we had brought snacks and drinks. Unfortunately, the room only had an extremely small waste basket in the living room (the same size as the bathroom). Needless to say with 6 kids it was overflowing with garbage after about a half an hour. We then proceeded to fill the 2 in the bathrooms by early evening. I went to the front desk to ask if perhaps a larger garbage recepticle for the kitchen area that could be put in our suite and she said no. I told her that we needed something so she proceeded to hand me a large plastic garbage bag.
At 4pm the day after we arrived I went to the front desk to see if perhaps they had forgotten to come to clean our room. The girl at the front desk told me they were still cleaning them (never asked for my room number) So we went out for dinner and came back at 7pm to a room still not cleaned. I went to the front desk again and this time they called housekeeping and said they would send someone right up. However, my kids were planning to rent a movie so now we needed to find something else to do or have the cleaning crew clean up around us!!!
Also at the Grill in the waterpark, there was no one ever around to wipe down the tables after people finished eating at them My friend went up to the register to ask for someone to clean the table so our kids could eat their lunch and the girl handed her the spray and dirty rag to do it ourselves!!!
The food at the hotel was good and we had an excellent meal at Trappers the full service restaurant attached to the hotel. There are also plenty of other places to eat very close by.
I must say my kids thoroughly enjoyed the waterpark and the activities that they offered. I just feel that they did not treat us like guests that they would want to return. I certainly wouldn't tell guests in my own home that they needed to clean the table themselves before they could eat.
I have a Six Flags amusement park close to my home that I no longer get season passes for because of the poor conditions and service at the park. I had higher expectations for this new place, but it certainly seems like Six Flags does not consider customer service a priority.
