Service let's the resort down A review of Semiahmoo Resort
We stayed for 2 nts at the resort and were disappointed ( our 3rd stay but probably our last). The pool was too cold for any of us and the hot tub age was 14yrs + . You could also not access the pool from the hotel without going outside ( it was cold & rainy when we stayed so an unpleasant experience). The spa looked nice but I was not impressed by the staff chatting and joking amongst themselves whilst I waited right in front of them to ask about availability. On Saturday morning we came down for breakfast at 10am and were seated at 10.45 - we waited with several other families for 45 mins! When the breakfast arrived it was cold, and very disappointing - the children's pancakes portions were very small and insufficient for a 5 & 6 yr old. THE Restaurant ( Stars) was not full just way understaffed. We had dinner in Stars in the evening and it was very average - not gourmet at all but not over expensive. Kids meals this time were large - their menu was very limited & offered no desserts. We would not eat there again. Had dinner one night at the Blue Heron at their golf club - food there was better - more Bistro like.
Rooms were nice ( we had a waterview). Did not turndown in the evenings and very quickly during the day!One night we ordered a bottle of wine from room service that turned up so long afterwards(45min) we had both forgotten about it! Generally we found the staff and service element could be greatly improved.
Nice location on the beach ( pebbly ) and pretty views across a bay to CAnada.
