Secure yet discreet A review of King George Palace

We had the opportunity to stay here last year during the Olympic Games and again in October. With security being so tight around the whole city during the games, it was 'comfortable' just knowing some of those 'well-appointed' individuals hovering around the entrance and lobby areas were security! Visible by senses yet visually discreet. The entire property is discreet....helpful and gracious when needed but will not 'intrude' in any way. We were fortunate in that we had a spectacular room overlooking the Square with views of the Akroplolis and Parliament building. We booked through Leading Hotels and both times got the same huge room. The only incident that rattled me a bit was at breakfast. It was not included in our rate. We decided to go up to the Tudor and sit outside to enjoy the view as well! Nevertheless, I am not a big breakfast person. Just put the pot of coffee in front of me and I'm fine! My husband, on the other hand, enjoys his 2-eggs sunnyside up w/some bacon, oj,etc. When it came time to sign for the bill I noticed they charged for 2 breakfasts. Although I tried explaining that I just had coffee - after 2 visits from the waiter to our table he informed us that it didn't matter and that the charge stood! that's the most expensive coffee I've ever had! Oh well! I guess you're being charged just for the opportunity to sit and enjoy that view - even though we had the same view from our room - just a couple of floors higher! With this exception, all else was great!
