Seattle Marriott Fine For Family of Four A review of Marriott Waterfront Seattle
We were warmly welcomed here (the doormen and the bellhop gave the kids Tootsie rolls), and after checking in, went directly to the concierge desk to enquire about a suitable restaurant for dinner. Our man quickly suggested the Icon Grill, and picked up the phone and made a reservation. We had a great meal there, and enjoyed a complimentary appetizer of salmon cakes sent to our table by -- the Seattle Marriott concierge! Nice touch. Our room was a bit small for 4 but nicely decorated, with a spacious bathroom and closet. The kids loved the small indoor/outdoor pool and the hot tub (too small for our liking, and suspiciously foamy when the jets were on). Rather bare bones pool area, and no clock on the wall left us checking our watches to make sure we didn't miss our dinner reserv. It's odd that there is no access to a change room or washroom from the pool (you must go through the glass door to the fitness room). We loved the huge, free Sunday a.m.
paper left at our door, and we made use of the coffee shop in the lobby (nice selection of teas, plus milk and cookies for the little ones). We walked by some unsavory but non-threatening characters hanging out by the elevator up to the walkway that takes you across the train tracks and under the highway. Pike Place Market is only a few blocks away. All in all, we really enjoyed our stay in this spanking new, clean and graciously staffed hotel. I'd recommend it.
