Run for your life..... this was a terrible experience... A review of Ramada Historic Hotel
We just returned from our vacation (April 2004) in Saint Augustine.
After staying in this hotel one night, we changed to a different hotel the next day. Here is a list of what we encountered: 1. Dingy and thin bath towels and rags that felt like sandpaper.
Overall dirty room and not well kept. The room was a disgrace and this was suppose to be a renovated room.
2. Very noisy.... only got about 2 hours sleep total.
3. Had made reservations for 2 rooms, side by side, and non smoking.
Upon arrival one room was a room for smokers. Members of the family had to change to a different area of the hotel due to this problem. (Health issue - Asthma) 4. Advertised as pet friendly, but there is very limited area to walk a pet. Most of the area was weeds and unkept.
5. Website shows a restaurant - Turtle Cafe that serves breakfast, lunch and dinner. This restaurant does not exist any longer. There is a restaurant that serves only breakfast.
I would not advise staying at this hotel. It is a total waste of money.
By the time we were able to find another hotel, check out of the Ramada, and check in at the different hotel half of our 1st day of vacation was gone. : (
