Rude service A review of River Terrace Resort & Convention Center
My wife and I got married in Gatlinburg on April 5,2003. Members of her family from NC and my family from NY had reserved rooms at the river terrace. When I arrived at the hotel, I was informed by several people that they could not get their rooms. Some had been told they could check in after noon, some were told by 3:00, and others at 4:00 p.m. . However, there was a convention that apparently got out of control on Thurs night 4/10 and our families could not get checked in until well after 5:00 p.m. . Originally, weeks before the wedding, we were told that rooms would be reserved in a general area, so that everyone would be near one another. After FINALLY getting the rooms we found that everyone was scattered around the entire resort. One member, when checking into their room, found some cake and other food laying on the table and chairs. On 4/05, one guest complained that the a/c wasn't working properly. When she called, they said they would come fix it. No one showed and when she called again, the front desk replied that it wasn't their problem and hung up on her. I found the front desk personnel very rude and unprofessional. I certainly would suggest finding another place to stay where they show respect to the customer.
