Rude & Disappointing A review of The Westin Pasadena
The hotel itself is nice...there is a great lobby w/ a lot fresh flowers... upgraded bathroom fixtures in the rooms for that clean "spa" feeling. HOWEVER..I have now stayed there two times...and was alarmed at the COMPLETE lack of good *or even decent* customer service I received during the evening shift! The evening manager wasn't helpful at all, and actually after dealing with him, it wasn't hard to see where the other employees that were "working" got their work ethics from. For example.. if you are not familiar with the area, and decide to inquire about local attractions/restaurants/lounges/etc., your questions are most likely to be answered with the famous "third grade three hum=I don't know." Yes or no questions will get you the same answer!(hum)When I asked if anyone was working that may be more familiar with Pasadena.. I got " We don't need your attitude" CLICK. Later on...we played the wonderful game of "Spin the Wheel Room Service" . After trying to order FIVE different items and being told "We don't have any", we asked what they DID have?" Turns out- they only had one thing on the menu that was available: a BLT. But do you think they told us that before we were on the phone with them for ten minutes? Ha ha! Of course not. If you have an expensive car... or even if you don't- but you at least lock your car doors - I would say -park in covered parking...and carry your own luggage. I went out at 11pm to begin my evening, only to find the keys to my 2003 RANGE ROVER sitting on the counter of the valet desk. It was ten minutes before anyone (including bellhop) came to assist us. Once they came- all it took for them to hand over the keys was "Those are to my car" and off I went! They didn't ask for a ticket.. room number..anything. Normally when I disagree with the service somewhere, I will not continue to give them my business. The first time I stayed was SO BAD.. that my second stay was purely motivated by disbelief and my unwillingness to accept that ppl could possibly be so rude! I do have to say though.. it is at least nice to know that as a new resident in Pasadena, I'll least know who NOT to recommend to my guests! It's unfortunate especially because we are Starwood Preferred Members, and it is nice to build our points. But to be treated the way we were just isn't worth it, and I would strongly discourage anyone from subjecting themselves to the same disappointment.
