Renaissance Austin is Excellent A review of Renaissance Austin Hotel
I just returned from a four night stay at the Austin Renaissance. Everything was excellent. I had a executive suite (?) which was huge and had a beautiful view of the hills behind the hotel. The room was newly renovated in elegant Texas Hill Country style - - really beautiful earth tone reds, golds, browns, and greens. It was also very comfortable. If you don't need the extra square footage, the regular rooms looked very appealing too. The room and the entire hotel were immaculate. The service is great - - the staff is friendly, professional and well-trained. I liked the location because the hotel is in suburban northwest Austin. It is part of a large outdoor shopping area with lots of upscale stores and restaurants within easy walking distance. It was very convenient. Also, there is free self-parking. If you want to take in all of the main tourist attractions, you will have to drive downtown. However, it is only about a 15-minute drive. I had an amazing rate of $154.00 per night which included breakfast either in the restaurant or via room service. The food was very good. Don't miss the lemon souffle pancakes which are only on the restaurant menu and not on the room service menu. They are truly one of the most delicious breakfast entrees I have ever eaten. This hotel is an outstanding value and will be hard to beat. One tip that does not pertain to this hotel is to be sure and give yourself at least 45 minutes to drive to the airport, probably over an hour during rush hour. The roads are under construction, directional signs are few and confusing, and the traffic in the middle of the day was terrible.
