Reminiscent of animal house. A review of The Sheraton Kansas City Hotel at Crown Center
Stayed at this hotel over Labor Day weekend 2004. Like most reviewers, I agree that hotel is looking somewhat neglected. Carpets old, bathrooms with ancient tile, bathroom counter with faux wood siding, and peeling wallpaper galore!
The room was layed out well and comfortable. Nice view. When I failed to find a coffee maker in the room I called 'Guest Services' and was told that those will be brought up to the room per request only. Okay, did not expect that at a place which caters to so many business class travellers. During my first night there there were people in the hall running, talking and shouting at 1:00 am. I called the desk to complain. Noise ceased. Next afternoon I had noticed about 5 rooms had their doors propped open and people were rolling kegs in the rooms and milling about between the 5 rooms. At 1:00 a.m. again people yelling and running back and forth. Called desk, security was dispatched. Noise ceased for about 15 minutes then resumed. I gave up. The whole irony was that when I made the reservation, I requested a quiet room.
Would I stay here again? Probably not. A rather far walk from the train station and for the price, would rather stay by the Country Club Plaza in hopes of finding a place that does not exercise such leniency toward such obnoxious customers.
