Really, very bad A review of Menzies Strathallan, Birmingham
No offence, but to any of the writers above who have given this more than 1 out of 5, I can only assume you have not stayed at many hotels. Look at the picture, I mean LOOK! Its a monstrosity.
The inside of the hotel is little better. There are no leisure facilites whatsoever, and I have no idea how this is a 4 star hotel. The bar is (as another writer commented) used as a local pub for people in the area; no guests frequent it. The area is a little scary, and the journey to town is a good 20 minutes by bus.
I was given an "Executive Double Room" which sounds impressive, but was small and of poor standard. The radiators weren't working, the bath didn't work and the shower was very old fashioned and not a power-shower. The ironing board is pure comedy in its proportions; about 2.5 foot long - imagine the fun ironing your shirts!
On the plus side, the staff were very friendly - no complaints with them at all.
