Quite comfortable, basic hotel A review of Kreutzwald Hotel Tallinn
The hotel is around 5-10 minutes walk from the lovely old square. It is very basic and the rooms are nothing special but it's as comfortable as you could expect from an 2/3 star hotel. If you can get a cheap price and you don't mind a short walk into town then I would recommend it wholeheartedly. The breakfast is definitely continental and nothing to write home about, but the bar is quite nice and hospitable.
The town itself is quite busy and has a nice atmosphere. The architecture is beautiful and the bars are really good to relax in. Beer is nice, ala Coque being better than the Saku, but the food is generally bad in my opinion, and I'll eat anything!!
One tip - almost all the taxi drivers will rip you off. Never pay more than 70 Kroons for a trip across town and for a trip to the airport. They will always quote you shed loads more and drive you for a good few minutes than you need so haggle a price before you jump in.
