Quaint Hotel with Great Location A review of Hotel De Tuilerieen
My wife and I spent two nights at the De Tuilerieen hotel on 1/16 & 17. We arrived early and since our room was not available, walked the beautiful city of Brugge. We returned around 5:00PM and were shown to our room on the third floor, back of the hotel, which had not been cleaned. The desk person was very embarrassed and moved us to a room on the first floor with a view of the canal. While a great view, the noise from the street is loud during the day and evening.
Our room was nicely decorated but our king bed was two singles (made up as twins) and pushed together. Bathroom was fine with average amenities for this class of hotel. Lighting in the bathroom is dark and needs to be improved. Beds were o.k.
The hotel has a pool (very small), sauna, steam room and hot tub. The bar is very comfortable and a great spot for an after dinner drink. The hotel only serves breakfast and at $23 Euro per person, we skipped out and ate at local restaurants.
Front desk staff has basic knowledge of the city but not the level that should be provided guests. They are pleasant but lack the detailed information required at this level of hotel. They had no idea about the carillon concert on the square each Sunday at 2:15. They could not call information since it was closed on Sundays
The Hotel De Orangerie was a sister hotel to the De Tuilerieen until this summer.
We had a pleasant stay at the Hotel De Tuilerieen but for the money, I would try another Brugge hotel on my next visit.
