Problems A review of Sea Lord Hotel & Suites
My boyfriend and I stayed at the Sea Lord Hotel in March 2004. After reviewing hotels online we decided that this sounded like the best place to stay at a reasonable price that we could afford. Upon arrival we got our room keys and went to the room number that was on our key holder (the small envelop our key was held in) only to find someone else there! Not our room! It was a used card holder that someone had written on. The rooms had no carpet only tile floors, the bed squeeked unbelievable bad. When you moved at night the bed squeeked. The walls were paper thin you could hear everything in the rooms beside you and above you. It was the worse four nights of sleep. When I went to take a shower I shut the shower curtain to find it was dirty, then I saw it was moldy! We asked to have it replaced and when it wasn't we asked why. They explained the maid tried to replace it that day but the room was locked. Hmmm....we weren't even there that day, the room couldn't have been locked. So we do not get room service that day either. Nor did we get room service the next day. There is a sign you must place on your door knob requesting service or privacy. We did not have one of these in our room. Local calls cost you a dollar per call, they charge a dollar a day for the safe in your room whether you used it or not. If you use the dishes in your room and leave them diry that's 25 dollars.
The dishes and sink area have a warning that they have only been cleaned with dish soap. The pool water is not filtered. The staff was not very hospitable. Be careful with your room door. It won't shut, you have to make sure it shuts all the way. Give it a good slam, or two or three. Our air conditioner quit working, but they did come and fix it the next day when we called them. Definitly do not recomend this hotel.
Fort Lauderdale is great but I'd find somewhere else to stay if I were you.
