Problems A review of Courtyard King Kamehameha's Kona Beach Hotel
We'd suppose to stay at the Kona Beach for 7 nights for our honeymoon. It took forever to check us in. Having coming off the plane tired and ready for a good night sleep when we got the room, my wife and I were digusted. The Room was dirty, smell moldy and the furniture was old and the A/C was blowing warm air out only. I've seen better living conditions at a run down motel 6. I went down immediately and ask for a different room, or at least one with a working A/C. The checkin desk staff was rude and pretty much said we're sorry all of our rooms are like that. They finally moved us to a different room with a better A/C, but still the overall room was horrible. I figure since it's a tropical climate there are more bugs, but this is ridiculous. The next day when we woke up, I found roaches, ants in the bathroom, bad water pressure when I was taking a shower, Toilets did not flush. My wife woke up with insect bites all over her leg and arm. We were really disappointed. I noticed another hotel on the other side of our hotel. Royal Kona Hotel. I'd went and asked them if any rooms were available and the offerred us a great rate and a free upgrade. With that my wife and I checked out of the Kona Beach Hotel and checked in to the Royal Kona Hotel. We got a lovely Oceanside view room that looked over the water and town. Man if I knew about this hotel I would off paid more for this. I figured that since we would hardly sleep getting a cheapier room was the best way to go about, boy I was wrong. Overall The Royal Kona Hotel was great, insect bite free and a lot newer than the other place. I would never head back to the Kona Beach Hotel. Not even if it was offered to me for FREE. The place is a dump and needs major cleanning up. Well after the move we had a great time and the mood was really nice for honeymooners to do what we/I wanted to do in the room.
