President's weekend in a great hotel! A review of Hampton Inn & Suites Lake George
Family of four stayed here for three nights over President's Day weekend. We had originally rented a two queen bed regular room but just prior to check in I called and asked to be upgraded to a 2 Queen suite room. They did so at no charge!
Check in was a snap and they front desk area was very helpful throughout our stay. Pool area was clean and warm but didn't try the hot tub....not sure what all the soapy bubbles were made of LOL! LOTS of kids howling but my two little ones had a blast. Warm choco chip cookies every afternoon around 6 so plan accordingly. Nice that they have a bar on premises as well. Breakfast was FANTASTIC...hot and different each morning. We were on the first floor and the room was quiet never heard our neighbors or any outside noise. Bedding was nice, pullout sofa solid. I like a very hard mattress and they were a little soft for my tast but no loss of sleep. Bathroom was nice and the room had a small fridge and microwave and both were nice, quiet and new. The heating unit was fine although a little loud at night when it powered on.
Hotel is set back from the street and up a hill...overall new and very very nice. Close to village though you have to drive. Only downside for us was the distance to Gore Mountain...about 35 minutes. But we knew that going in and to be honest would not have changed a thing!
Try the Cherry Tomato restaurant in Queensbury. Really good and about 15-20 minutes away.
For $116 a night on a holiday weekend we could not have been happier. STRONGLY recommend the Hampton Inn Lake George. Would be nice to come back in the summer as well!
