Premium Price for Below Premium Service A review of DoubleTree by Hilton Breckenridge
Before reading keep in mind that all the below were charges incurred once we arrived. They were not disclosed to us. First, they charge you to park in their undersize garage. If you drive a compact car it's fine. But majority of people going to the high country have SUV's and ski racks. It made for a really tight squeeze and the price to park was $12 per night! Second, you are charged $.75 for every local call you make. Which you tend to make alot because you need to order dinner after a long day of skiing or for a quick lunch. You may ask, "Why not order room service?" Well, that leads me to my third qualm. You dial room service and sit on hold for 5 minutes, call the front desk to make sure they are open, sit on hold for another 5 minutes then place your order and wonder if something is going to be wrong with your food because you had to really push someone to make an order. Also, count on your room service tray staying in the hall for at least 24 hours!
Finally, If you want to stay someplace where you can enjoy a nice large hot tub that's made for more than 3 people we recommend Beaver Run. We thought we would try someplace new this year but we will return to Beaver Run next year. They offer the only TRUE ski in/ski out access!
