Power plant in backyard A review of Salish Lodge & Spa
I stayed at the Salish with my husband and 12 year old on our first trip to the Northwest. It was over budget, but I was seduced by the web site, good reviews, and the view of the waterfall. Why does no one mention that the hotel rooms, except for six rooms, overlook a truly ugly power plant or that the dam has constuction work going on? The staff was nice enough to show me other rooms that had trees blocking the view but it wasn't worth the effort with no reduction in rate from our 'River view" room. The restaraunts are so expensive it's nuts. In the "Attic Room" the soup of the day is 9, with a hamburger at 16 or 19. Always, there was one server present. The spa is limited. There are 2 facials, 2 massages, and 1 wrap. The theme of silence is a little much. All in all if I knew then what I know now I would have passed.
