Portland Harbor Hotel - A Quaint Hotel in the Old Port A review of Portland Harbor Hotel

We stayed at the Portland Harbor Hotel on 4/14. It was a quiet evening in the town, hotel almost empty. Liked our room over looking the garden patio. Complimentary coffee in lobby, car service in town and conceirge help for dining was a plus. Parking garage was an over-priced rip off for this off-season. I'm sure it's necessary in the summer, but should be comp. when hotel is in an off-season. Restaurant looked nice but appeared to be more like a lounge and tiny bar. I think restaurant needs a more private setting to match the food and prices advertised. I would like to see more amenities like spring water, bubble bath, comb, massaging shower head in room. Outdated tourist magazine left in desk along with decor book didn't tell us much about the area. Like the decor, but hotel has to try harder to rise to the 4 star level. Because of the smaller size, I'm guessing noise from the streets and crowded conditions could be a problem in the summer. I would stay again if I got another discounted rate. I don't think the hotel is worth the full price, peak season prices advertised...
