Poorly Managed A review of Clarion Inn Historic Strasburg Inn
We came to town for a wedding. The groom's mother had blocked out 10 rooms in July for us. In August we called and they did not have the rooms. It took calls from the groom's mother and each individual family group to the hotel in order to get the aloted rooms. Each family group was placed in seperate areas, and we all did not have rooms. Two families had to make up to a three hour drive home at 9 Oclock at night. One of the rooms had black mold on one wall, and an odor. Another was given a room with double bed and no refrigerator instead of the arranged king and refrigerator. The telvisions were old. The pipes were squeaky, and the water temperature was poorly regulated. The water in the pool was green. The maid came to the door at 8:30 am to clean up the room, check out was at 11 am.
Excluding the mold the hotel was clean. Breakfast was very good, and the service at breakfast was excellent. Most of the desk clerks were polite but
unable to deal with the issues that arose with the rooms. ( there was one clerk who was nasty and rude) The children did have a nice play area, with slides and swings. However large boulders near the play area were more attractive to the boys. These boulders were large and widely spaced this area was excessively dangerous. The boys had to be stopped from jumping for fear of serious injuries. There were no warning signs or barriers around this area.
I would not recommend this hotel. I may recommend the Bistro, as I felt this was the one jewel we found at this hotel.
