Poor Service A review of San Mateo Marriott San Francisco Airport
After 9 days in California, we had our worst hotel experience here. We booked online for a family of 5 (marriott). The website said the room we booked would accommodate our family, but when we arrived, they said we needed to upgrade to a larger room for $20 more. The new room was a suite with a king, sofabed, and a rollaway would be provided. When the rollaway showed up, there was no bedding for it. The sofabed also didn't have bedding. After explaining the problem to the front desk, two sheets and 1 pillow were provided, but we needed bedding for two beds (three people). We were more specific and asked for 2 more sheets, 2 blankets, and 2 pillows. They brought 1 blanket that looked like it was pulled out of the laundry bin and 1 pillow. There is a fee for self-parking, and the parking lot is gated (our room card wouldn't open the gate most of the time). The only good thing we experienced at this hotel was the airport shuttle that picked us up after dropping off our rental car and taking us to the airport the next morning. We were very disappointed in this hotel and were not provided the service we have come to expect from a Marriott.
