Poor Management - Not helpful at all A review of Cottage Inn by the Sea

I am sorry to share that I had a really disjointing experience at this hotel. Having actually read all of the previous review, I decided to take my family here for a special birthday weekend.The hotel itself is very clean and the rooms we well appointed, but the service and sympathy of the staff was HORRIFIC!Problem 1: Early check-in. At 10:00AM we called for early check-in, as we wanted a place to store our luggage before a kayak excursion. When I spoke with the manager she said that we could have the early check-in, but that we would need to come to the hotel when we are ready and work it out when we arrived. Even though I was calling from one town away, she could not guarantee that a room would be available until 3PM.Problem 2: Too much chlorine in the pool and Jacuzzi. We spent about 30 minutes in the water and our bathing suits were completely bleached (green to yellow). My wife and her friends silver and white gold jewelry were discolored as well.Problem 3: Late Check out. Since we decided to postpone our kayak excursion, due to a lack of concierge service the previous day, we called the front desk, once again, to request a late check-out. Our kayak excursion was to be over by 1:30PM and the standard late check-out time is 1:00PM. As these were extenuating circumstances (we wanted to hop in the shower before our 4 hour drive to the SF East Bay) we asked for an extra 30 minutes. Once again, the unhelpful management said that that extra 30 minutes was too much time and it didnt leave housekeeping ample time to get the room ready for the next guests at 3:00PM. In fact, the women with whom we spoke told us to just go and shower at our friends house in SLO, rather than at the hotel.Over all poor experience :(
