Pleased with our choice. A review of The Diplomat Hotel
We stayed here for 3 nights at the end of January 2005 and were more than happy with our choice. Getting from the airport couldn't be easier, you just catch the 119 bus from outside the airport terminal and it terminates right outside the hotel. Buy a cheap travelcard from the airport which covers you for all transport including buses, trams, the metro and even the funicular up Petrin Hill.
Rooms in the hotel are not big but are nice and clean and the staff are really friendly and helpful. Breakfast is great and there is lots of choice with something to please everyone. While the hotel is in a nice area away from the centre of town it is also ideally situated literally yards away from a metro station so you can be anywhere that you could want to be within minutes.
The only minus point has to be the price of the food and drink in the hotel itself. We made the mistake of arriving back after a night out and ordering some drinks in the bar. I realise that hotel bar prices can be a bit steep but one round of drinks for 3 people cost us more than 2 bottles of wine in a restaurant earlier that evening. Apart from this we would recommend staying here to anyone who visits Prague.
