Pleasantly surprised A review of L'Auberge Casino Resort Lake Charles
Went to L'auberge to check it out 6/21 to see the new kid on the block as far as casinos go. Was there about a hour during the noonish hour and the place was hopping. After some time at the craps table had to leave, but wanted to come back for a closer visit. Went to the host desk to see about a room and golf for 6/25, expecting to hear it was full my new host Ana set me up with everthing I needed for my next visit including my Tee time. Saturday came and showed up early and was allowed to check in and put my stuff in my room. Now the room is no Venetian or Beau Rivage but is nice and the bed was very comfortable. Made my way down stairs and still found a $5. craps table around which was nice. I like playing the $5. tables because the people get more excited then the higher minimum tables. Didn't win but that was no fault of the casino just bad dice that round, the waitress's were around often with with good drinks, not watered down ones.
Went to the center bar and sat down at the video poker machine to slow down a bit. Bartender was very nice looking lady mixing really good drinks. After about a hour went up to the room to clean up for supper. Went to the Jack Daniels Bar and Grill for a drink and to check out the menu and the servers. Was told the seating would be about a hour so we decided to go to the Buffet instead but I could had sat there and watched the waitress walk by, talk about eye candy. Next time I will be smart and make my reservation before hand so there will be no wait. The buffet was very nice with a better than expected selection of food and great service. They have set the bar for all the other Lake charles casino buffets. After supper gave the craps table one more chance to give me back my money with some limited success deciced to call it a night. After a good night sleep was ready to hit the links on there new course. All the people at the golf course were professional with no golf nazi's around to harass the hackers. Look forward to playing the course again. All in all I think L'auberge will be the place to stay in SW Louisiana. A nice touch which I have never gotten before from any casino I have played at was a thank you card from Ana my host. A hand written card is a welcomed change to just a free nights offer for a new player. Will be coming back.
