Perfect for starting your Sequoia/Kings Canyon trip! A review of Western Holiday Lodge Three Rivers
First of all, if your plans are to enter Sequoia from the south entrance, then Three Rivers is the place you should stay on your first night (before entering the park at all). And if you stay in Three Rivers, this is the place you should stay because it has the best price of all the motels and completely does the job for the one night. I realize you might be drawn to some of the other motels because they offer views, but you don't need it. No offense to Three Rivers, but it is just a place for you to stay on your way to the parks. Save your money and stay here. I got a room for $50/night -- every other motel was at least $75/night.
Arrive here at night, then start Sequoia Park in the AM and work your way up towards Kings Canyon. I would then recommend Montecito Sequoia Lodge at the Sequoia/Kings Canyon border for the 2nd night.
