Perfect babymoon A review of Compass Point Beach Resort
My husband and I were looking for a gorgeous, romantic, secluded resort with great food and unique atmosphere and that wasn't too far from Chicago for our last childless vacation -- a very tall order to say the least!
Compass Point totally exceeded our expectations. We stayed for 7 days/6 glorious nights in an elevated sea front hut with a little veranda that opened right onto the ocean -- lovely! The rooms are wonderfully equipped with fridge, microwave, high thread-count sheets, aveda products, lush towels, wireless internet (although at times the service was spotty), flat screen tv, dvd, and stereo. The resort itself feels secluded and private, yet amenities like internet and tv allow you to stay connected to the rest of the world if you like -- perfect for us.
The food and drink were absolutely delicious. We were amazed by how consistent the chef was considering we ate practically every meal at the resort.
This is definitely not the place for you if you're looking for 24-casinos and the disney-like atmosphere of the resorts closer to Paradise Island. We went into town only once to check out Atlantis and while the jitney bus ($2) was fun, we couldn't wait to get back to the tranquility of Compass Point. The bus only runs during daylight hours. After dusk, you'll have to cab it back to the resort which will cost you anywhere from $25-35. It is a long way from Paradise Island.
Every day we ate great food, sat by the pool sunning ourselves or swimming in the ocean, slept on a wonderfully comfortable bed, lulled to sleep by the ocean waves-- overall a perfect stay for us.
We cannot wait to return!
