Peaceful Oasis A review of Sagewater Spa
From the first phonecall, I knew that Sagewater was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. Christine was lovely on the phone--friendly, thoughtful, eager to take the time to share everything the hotel offers. She offered to book spa services and make restaurant reservations. And later when I called back, Ronnie, the other owner, was equally friendly and personable. We fell in love with both of them when we finally got to meet them in person, and fell head over heels for Sagewater. It truly is an oasis--a lovely, simple soothing aesthetic sets the tone for your vacation immediately. The hot springs pool is wonderful. The rooms, though sparse in decor, are simple and beautiful, and have all of the amenities you could hope for--plenty of kitchen necessities; dvd player; hair dryer; robe--and are uniquely thoughtful in design for hotel rooms--hooks for hanging clothes in all the right places; etc. The hotel has a nice little library of dvds and magazines. The coffeecake you receive upon arrival is such a great way to do the small hotel breakfast thing. All of Christine and Ronnie's recommendations were right on--from their favorite restaurant in Palm Springs, to the massage treatments--which were very expensive but great. The directions on the website were a little off, partially due to road construction, but in general our weekend at Sagewater was so easy and perfect and relaxing. And even though they don't allow dogs, if you're lucky you'll get to meet their very special dog, Sage-the perfect mascot for this truly special place.
