Pass the Greystone up! A review of Greystone Lodge at the Aquarium
I heard some great things about the Greystone so we decided to book a couple nights stay and I have to say I was highly dissapointed and we definitely check out early! We hardly complain but I figured these opinions are not doing this hotel justice!
The hotel looks wonderful from the outside and the reception area is so neatly decorated, it wasn't until we got into our room when we figured out what we got ourseleves into! The room smelled musty like mold and mildew had settled in, which was pretty evident when looking at the brown stained bath tub. We were pleased to see some local restaraunt guides that had a local phone number list to figure out what food was served but when we noticed that we were charged for LOCAL calls, we were completely disturbed! Breakfast is an absolute joke in this hotel even if you are there first thing, and don't bother stepping into the ice cold pool unless you are trying out for a spot in the polar bear swim club. One nice thing I have to mention is the beautiful brook and the closeness to the trolley stop, but trust me Greystone is in need of some major restoring and if you are allergic to mold bring your benadryl!
