Paradise in Rockport - home away from home A review of Claddagh Motel & Suites
We recently made a visit to Maine and as our work was near Rockport we stayed at Claddagh Motel & Suites. We have stayed at many other inns and hotels before but Claddagh is far above in all respects - be it in Irish hospitality of Alex and Siobhan be it in in cleanliness or be it in comfort. We have stayed both in their duoble and triple room ( which in fact can sleep four)
At first we wrere a bit hesitant to check in a motel but once we checked in Alex went all out to make our stay as comfortable as possible. Dont be confused by the name - Claddagh is more than a motel or rather you may call it a hotel with a motel feel.
The continental breakfast is free with excellent choice of coffee and breads. 24 hrs hot and cold water, spacious toilets, wifi internet across the hotel, heated swimming pool, 90 Channel Tv facility ( you wont get this at any other hotel in Maine) beautifully done up rooms in old english style - what more can anybody ask for. Moreover Alex and Siobhan the owners and their two sons are always a phone call away to help you in anything.
Walmart is just a 5 mins walk and so are other departmental stores. Camden town is 5 mins drive while the back road down the motel takes you to a lovely serene bayfront for a peaceful evening walk.
Camden is a place of interest for a few things like Lobster and Crabs, art stores and the sea front. You may also go down to Rockland for a day out on the sea or the lighthouse museum and some excellent seafood.
If you are visiting Maine either on business or on leisure or a vacation a stay at Claddagh will be a lifetime experience.
