Pamper me some more!!! A review of Ojai Valley Inn and Spa
I am a spa junkie and I am convinced that Ojai Valley Inn and Spa is the best if you are looking for an amazing atmosphere as well as incredible value.
This spa has always had the most amazing service from the front desk staff to the spa technicians (massage therapists, facialists, etc...) They offer quite a few specials and packages year round that make the spa vacation, how can I say it...? Not as costly as your typical spa. Other spas I have visited charge upwards of $400/nite just for the room alone, and $110+ for one basic no-frills treatment (massage, facial.) It can add up for those who deserve to go to have some relaxation and pampering, yet may not yet have it in their budget to spend a few thousand dollars in one weekend.
Don't get me wrong, Ojai Valley Inn and Spa is not a budget or lower class spa by any means! I think that maybe they are just behind the game in the outrageous fee department. They offer more and better treatments, exercise/relaxation classes, activities, as well as an amazing children's program than any other spa I have visited.
Rooms fees range from $250/nite and up. During certain times of the year, for example when they are having their golf package special, rooms are going for $99/nite pp double occupancy.
The rooms themselves are great! They are spacious and extremely clean. The beds are huge double pillow top luxury style beds with down comforters and silky soft sheets. The bathrooms are pretty average in the regular rooms, but you probably won't spend a whole lot of time in the bathroom if you plan to spa the whole time.
The spa services are amazing. They offer so many services that your head will be spinning as to which one you should pick. I recommend the deep tissue massage and the rose facial (if you like the smell of roses.) I went in 2001 and had two great facials, one by a woman named "BeBe" and the other was "Lisa". I also love the body scrubs and the famous Kuyam mud treatment.
Pregnant women!! If you are expecting and want some safe and much needed pampering, they have incredible treatments for pregnant women! I went when I was pregnant and was treated like a queen!!!! I highly recommend this for expectant mothers.
The exercise classes are all included in those who are staying at the spa. They have great aqua aerobics, yoga, stretch, spinning, kick boxing, etc....
They also offer relaxing nature hikes as well as hikes for the hard core athletic types. They also have biking tours and horse back tours.
There is an excellent hair salon available should you decide you need some help with your locks.
The food at the spa restaurants was excellent as well. They offer healthy/lighter fare as well as "what the heck, let's splurge" dishes. The atmosphere is wonderful and relaxing.
I don't know if I have covered everything, but I think I have given you the general idea of how much I adore this place! I think you will too.
