Overrated; Would not call this a "Resort" A review of White Sands Oceanfront Resort & Spa
This is far from a resort. Rooms are small, but clean. Towel service could be much better. Small balcony, but no chairs to sit on outside. Most distressing was that we were told to "Vacate the property upon checkout". We have stayed at MANY places including the Spring Lake Hotel (only a few miles away) and have always been welcomed to use the facilities until we are ready to leave on that day. Cafe was OK, overpriced, and open to the public so you could stay next door and still eat there. Beach was also somewhat disappointing. It was a beautiful Memorial Day weekend and the sand was not clean or raked. The Public Beach in front of the boardwalk looked better! At best, this is a motel by the beach with a pool.
Our Amenities include: two outdoor pools, a baby wading pool, a private beach, off street parking, The Lido Cafe', Karen's Boutique, an Indoor Pool, Fitness Center, Steam Room, Sauna, Jacuzzi, The Sea Spa and Salon, Spano's Italian Steak House, The Coral Reef Lounge, and a beautiful Banquet Facility.
Plus, we provide many in-room amenities. We give free beach bags at check-in and have a fun children's activity program including: Sand Castle Competitions, Pirates Cove Day, Summer Olympics, Carnival Day, Arts & Crafts, rainy day activities, and games. We are a far cry from "a motel by the beach with a pool."
The use of our facilities begins at about 12 noon on day of check in, and expires at 11am, time of check out. This policy, new this year, was put into place after listening to our guests concerns from last season. The issue was that there seemed to be too many people using the facility at any given time. Therefore, we hope this year to enhance our guest's experience during their registered period of time by eliminating 1/3 of the crowd.
As always, we accept any constructive criticism so that we can better serve our guests. Please feel free to contact me with further concerns or questions toll free at 888-558-8958.
