Overpriced, not for beach lovers A review of Kamalame Cay
We have just come back from a 2 night stay at Kamalame Cay and we have left the resort 3 days early for the bad beach condition and the windy and chilly weather. We are worldwide travelers and have stayed at the best caribbean resorts. This resort is definitely overpriced. We stayed at one of the cottages about 1.5 miles away from the main house where the beach was not clean, but full of cans, bottles and plastic trash especially when you walk further south. We don't know if this has been caused by the rough weather conditions or if the beach is just not what you expect from a remote location in the Bahamas. The sea was also too shallow to swim and the water murky. The cottage did not have a bath tub as published on their website and was rather simple. It did definitely not compare to the accomodation and lovely beaches we found at Parrot Cay, One&Only Ocean Club, Petit St. Vincent, Cap Juluca, Peter Island, K-Club, Little Dix Bay. I still give the resort two "balls" because the food was very good and the service always nice. This does, however not apply to the management. When we asked for a partial refund to leave early, the management turned us down. This is not what I expect from a high-end resort. If you are beach lovers and honeymooners I do not recommend to go there you can get much better at Parrot Cay in the Turks&Caicos for half of the price or K-Club, Barbuda at about the same price.
