Overpriced is the Word A review of Blue Water Manor
I stayed here for 4 nights in a 2-room "suite" with my wife, son, and nephew. We had the meal plan included.
Although the food was above average (not great), I felt like the staff was told to "cut corners" by the owners. We observed one night my son's uneaten salad placed to the side. The next night, we found that one of our salads was lacking olives and tomatoes. It seemed like this was recycled from the night before, and the guests who were given said salad removed the olives and the tomatoes, which were not even replaced. If you're going to do that, at least cover your tracks! Also, the breakfast offers only the same 4 options each day.
The suite was old, with old-fashioned sinks, small and uncomfortable beds, a nonfunctional remote, and easy entry for bugs.
The owners seemed to cater to larger "regular" groups, neglecting single families. These groups also seemed to be given extras not available to us.
To sum up, it is not even close to being worth the price ($81 per person per night). In hindsight, I should have stayed at a basic hotel closer to the village of Lake George and ate meals at the numerous restaurants along route 9. I would have enjoyed the variety.
