Overall great hotel; two major problems A review of The Salem Waterfront Hotel & Marina

This hotel is so new that it isn't even listed in the phone book. I found it by accident in the middle of a snowstorm by asking at a local Dunkin Donuts about available lodging in the area, and a customer spoke up and said, "They just built a new hotel down the street." Having been caught in a rat motel once or twice when bad weather his during my business travel, I was thrilled to find this hotel. It was new, clean, and comfortable. The windows open for fresh air. The beds are comfortable, and include four pillows and a real comforter -- a nice touch. It has internet access. Only two things are cause for concern: First, I asked for a quiet room, so they put me on the 4th floor. Unfortunately, the 5th floor consists of privately owned condos, and they started making lots of construction noise at 7:00 a.m. Warning to other guests: If you want a quiet room, don't let them put you on the 4th floor! Otherwise, the hotel does seem fairly quiet. Second, the breakfast leaves much to be desired. They really need to work on it -- the low quality of the food doesn't fit with the rest of what the hotel has to offer. Overall, though, I was very happy to find this hotel and would stay there again: snowstorm or not. :-)
