Over-rated, under-good A review of Kilronan House
I think this is a case of people staying at such lousy places that the first place they stay that isn't a hovel seems like heaven. The rooms were okay, but a double bed isn't a double bed here, but two twins pushed together, with blankets and sheets that don't really fit. The shower was about 2.5 feet square; try turning around in that space. The food wasn't very good, just lots of it. The staff was friendly, unless you had a problem and then they weren't very helpful. We rented a car and asked if we could park in the driveway (there is lots of vandalism in Dublin), and they were all smiles when we asked. But that night, they had no room in the driveway afterall (I had asked twice and reminded them again that day) and weren't very apolegetic at all. There is lots of noise from the street and parking lots all around. Finally, one of our party was offered a room that was literally 6' X 10' (the door wouldn't open all of the way because of the bed!), and they wouldn't change the room or offer a refund. Keep looking for places (Longfields!); you can easily find a better one.
