Only for the chic A review of Relais Ravestein
a friend and i spent one night at this hotel. she found it very interesting. i couldn't wait to get out of it. the room was rather small and the beds were in a direct line with the ventilator ducts, creating a constant chill (even when we turned the temperature up).
the bathroom could barely accommodate one person at a time. it took the two of us over five minutes to figure out how to use the bathtub (without the jacuzzi - just the hot water). when we left the next day, i suggested they might include directions for the tub and was told no guest was ever supposed to be checked in without someone going up with them to explain the tub ... a bit too chic for the average bear, perhaps?
the whole atmosphere was cold and minimalistic - presumably a treat for people who love modern, absolutely stripped down design. if you're not one of those, try the orangerie or the tuileries, which are traditionally designed and immensely comfortable.
