One of the nicest Hotels A review of Hotel Riu Garoe
On arrival it was a pleasure to find fresh fruit, wine, a cold plate of meat/cheese and freshly laundered bath robes in our room. The mini bar was a bonus in that its prices were one of the cheapest I have experienced.
The evening meal provided as part of the price was excellent and saved a packet of Euros. One thing to bear in mind though is that the hotel caters for mainly Spanish and Germans. There is still a big enough selection for all tastes.
Keeping fit was not too much of a problem as I was on most days the only visitor to the Hotel gym, sauna and indoor pool. The only member of staff who could do with a lesson in smiling is the driver of the free bus service who gives Victor Meldrew a good name.
The location of the hotel is in the german quarter of the town and you have to search hard for entertainment, good bars and places to eat away from the hotel. Its a good 20 minute walk to Puerto de la cruz.
Not much to keep the kids happy for the whole hoilday but a lovely relaxing time at this hotel.
