once they answered the door, it was fine! A review of Tambo Aymara
This is one of the nicer probably slightly dearer places in Uyuni, which is a complete hell hole. I and some other guests knocked and rang on the door for about ten minutes before someone bothered to let us in. Of course, they don't take cards, and the internet did not work, which and been one of the reasons for us to choose this place. But internet does not work anywhere in Uyuni, it seems, so we can't really be too angry about that. Our room was cosy, and the bathroom had plentiful hot water and nice towels and our beds were cosy. Breakfast was not great the only cereal they seem to have is sugar puffs and porridge, which is bad if you are not provided with boiling milk or a microwave to cook it. Just toast and bananas and tea in addition, and no protein apart from the ubiquitous strawberry yogurt. My friend experienced rudeness when checking in, as the receptionist answered the phone at least twice while she was waiting to be checked in fully. I would probably recommend it, but choice in Uyuni is limited so it's one of the best of a bad bunch rather than being actually really nice.
